The proposed itinerary coincides with the GR 92 "Trail Mediterranean". The path leaves L'Ametlla de Mar to the North along the coast, toward the Coll de Balaguer. If possible, you walk along the sea by the ancient walkways, crossing the coves where pirates Barbarescos tried to land unseen by the Christian knights of the Order of St. Jordi Alfama. After passing near the castle (XVIII century), one arrives at the Almadraba where, until recently, fishing nets were deployed to fish the valuable fish in the Mediterranean.
Excursion recommended for mountain biking.
Length: 8.6 miles (one way). Approximate time: 2 hours. Effort: average (high in some places). Elevation: 250 m. approx.
From L'Ametlla de Mar to Puig Moltó. We are sure that the effort will be rewarded by the sight of the coast of L'Ametlla de Mar, the Ebro Delta and the hills covered with pine trees spreading down to the blue sea. The route will take you into intimate places behind the coast, strolling through fields of ancient olive, carob and almond trees and taking off to see these places up to a bird's eye view. The road back may be the same and you may take the chance to swim in one of the nearby coves.
